President | Mary Nardone

• (1) 1 year term

• Presides over all general and Executive Board meetings of the PTA.

• Ex officio member of all committees except the nominating committee.

• Coordinates the work of the officers and committees of the association.

• Will move to the past president position the following year.

President-elect | Christyn Whitney

• (1) 1 year term

• Works under and in cooperation with the President.

• Fulfills other duties assigned by the president.

• In the absence of the president or his/her ability to act, performs the duties and exercises the powers of the president.

• Will move into the president position the following year.

Executive Vice President | Gary Kass

• Burr Elementary School Principal

Vice Presidents - Fundraising | Paola Murphy

• (2) 2 year positions

• Advise and oversee any standing committee that raises funds, as well as act as liaison between those committee chairs and the Executive Board

Vice Presidents - Administration | Aarti McMahon

• (2) 2 year positions

• Advise and oversee all administrative committees other than those that raise funds, as well as act as liaison between those committee chairs and the Executive Board.

Vice Presidents - Enrichment | Kim Risley

• (2) 2 year positions

• Advise and oversee any standing committee that enhance student education, as well as act as liaison between those committee chairs and the Executive Board

Vice Presidents - Spirit | Heather Petrecca

• (2) 2 year positions

• Advise and oversee committees which enhance the parent and student experience, as well as act as liaison between those committee chairs and the Executive Board.

Teacher Representatives | Susan Cinquegrana and
KeriAnn Ventresca

• (2) 1 year positions

Recording Secretary | Stacey James

• (1) 2 year term

• Records the minutes of all general membership meetings and distributes copies to the President prior to the next meeting.

• Has a current copy of the bylaws and maintains all PTA files.

Corresponding Secretary | Karen Houghton

• (1) 2 year term

• Conducts the correspondence of the association and sends out notices to the executive board and other meetings.

• Notifies officers, committee members and delegates of their election and notifies Connecticut PTA office of the names and addresses of newly elected officers and those serving a second term.

Treasurer | Monica Anderson

• (1) 1 year position

• Responsible for working with budget committee to form PTA budget

• Responsible for financial procedures and communication of same to Executive Board and members

• Keep custody of the funds and make disbursements

• Responsible for presenting financial statements at each general and executive board meeting

Assistant Treasurer | Ann Marie O'Keefe

• (1) 1 year position

• Assists the Treasurer in his/her duties

• Prepare cash boxes for events and make deposits of funds

• Audits monthly bank statements and reconciliation's

• Files tax returns

• Communicates with Committee Chairs to track budgeted expenditures

• Moves into Treasurer position following year

Past Treasurer | Diane Smola

Volunteer Coordinators | Chris Nightingale,
Renee Sullivan, and Lisa Previti

• (3) 2 year term

• Recruit committee chairs, with the input of the executive board.

• Distribute volunteer packets, forward volunteer names to committee chairmen, and coordinate the volunteer orientation.

PTA Council Reps | Chris Gannon and Michelle Stearns

• (2) One 1year term, one 2 year term

• Act as liaisons between PTA Council and the school PTA.

• Attend all meetings of the PTA Council and report back to the Executive Board and the general membership.

Membership | Vicki Swanson

• (1) 2 year position

• Recruits members

• Collects and submits dues to National and State PTA

• Prepares a record of membership for National, State and local PTA units

• Responsible for publicizing general membership meetings to the school population

Board of Education Reps | Lisa Amendola and Jen Colucci

• (2) One 1 year term, one 2 year term

• Act as liaisons between the Board of Education and the school.

• Attend all meetings of the Board of Education and report back to the Executive Board and the general membership.

Budget Reps | Laurie Ehlers and Lisa Maute

• (2) One 1 year term, one 2 year term

• Will be part of the school based Budget Committee responsible for meeting with the school principal

• Responsible for informing the general population of all pertinent Budget meetings

• Represent the Burr Street School at all town-wide Budget meetings and report back to the Executive Board and/or at general membership meetings

• Speak at budget meetings, as necessary, as representatives of the PTA
