Q. I can't read the Burr Buzz, what do I do?
A. Try the following steps...
- Double check that you are using the correct password.
- You may not have the most up-to-date Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
- To download the latest version of this free software, click here.
- If you downloaded a new version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, make sure you installed the software by checking the version. Open Acrobat Reader and select the Help menu. Select About Adobe and make sure the version is 8.0.0 or higher.
- Restart your computer.
- Clear Internet Files
- If you are using a PC and Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer and select the Tools menu. Then select Internet Options.
- In the middle box (Temporary Internet Files) select the Delete Files button. Check the Delete Off Line Content box and then select OK. This may take a while depending upon your settings.
- If you're using a MAC, try searching the help for deleting internet files or history from your computer.
- If you still can't read the Burr Buzz after installing Adobe Reader 8.0.0 and clearing Temporary Internet Files, please call or email Liesl Rexford, Stacey Mosetich, or Mary Hogue for further assistance.
Q. Where can I find my students ID number for mealpay.com?
A. You need to call the school lunch program at (203)255-8350. To get the student ID number. This number will be the same through high school.
Q. I sent an email to submit information for the web site and have not received a response.
A. We respond to requests within 48 hours. If you do not receive a response, please try emailing again to info@burrpta.org or calling Stacey Mosetich or Liesl Rexford.
Q. When does the PTA meet?
A. The General PTA Meetings are listed on the Calendar. All parents are encouraged to attend. PTA Executive board meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the morning. This is an open meeting and anyone is welcome to attend.
Q. Can I buy another copy of the Directory ?
A. Yes. They are $5.00 each. They are available on a first come basis and while supplies last. Please contact Emily Price if you are interested.
Q. How do I join a committee if I didn't make it to sign up night?
A. Contact the committee chair directly. The committees and their chairs are listed in the directory and on the Committee Notes page of this website.
Q. Will there be other opportunities to volunteer later in the year?
A. Yes. We have close to 60 committees this year at Burr, and will always be looking for volunteers to help out. One committee that might be of interest is the "one shot deal" committee. These parents put their name on a list, and if a program or event is short-staffed or needs help with baking, etc, these people will be called on to help. If they can help at that time, great...if not, that's okay too.
Q. How much does it cost to join the PTA?
A. $12.00 for a family.
Q. What are the benefits of joining the PTA?
A. You must be a member in order to vote at a PTA meeting. Also, you need to be a PTA member to work on any PTA committees or programs.
Q. Can I still sign up to be a member of the PTA?
A. Yes. Membership forms are available on our website or at the office. We are still looking for 100% membership. Click here membership form.
